Malala Yousafzai renews call for ‘immediate’ ceasefire in Gaza

WEB DESK: Malala Yousafzai, the youngest Nobel laureate and advocate for girls’ education, has renewed her plea for an “immediate and lasting ceasefire” to halt the ongoing violence in Gaza.

In impassioned posts on social media platforms including X (formerly Twitter and Instagram), the Pakistani activist condemned the dire conditions faced by children and families in Gaza. She emphasized the urgent need to end their suffering, describing it as unacceptable.

Malala also shared insights into the efforts of her organization, Malala Fund, which collaborates with the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) to support young people affected by the conflict in Gaza. She highlighted ongoing initiatives aimed at providing medical and humanitarian aid to alleviate the plight of children and families.

“In October last year, alongside our call for a ceasefire, @malalafund supported Palestine Children’s Relief Fund @thepcrf’s incredible work,” Malala wrote, underscoring their joint efforts to provide essential services amid the crisis.

She further detailed the devastating impact of living under constant threat of bombardment on children’s physical and mental well-being, stressing the critical need for access to proper care and education.

Malala’s advocacy continues to draw attention to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, urging global action to ensure the safety and well-being of all affected by the conflict.
