Technical equipment stolen from Karachi driving license office

WEB DESK: Police in Karachi have reported a peculiar theft at the city’s driving license office, where a group of thieves made off with crucial technical equipment.

Authorities stated that the burglary occurred late at night at the Clifton Branch, where the perpetrators absconded with significant items, including a server, six computers, 12 hard disks, and multiple data cables.

Sources revealed that the stolen systems and hard drives contain sensitive citizen data, raising concerns about potential breaches.

Initially downplayed by driving license officials, the incident was later confirmed by district police.

“This branch houses offices of the DIG, DSP, and other officials, with security guards deployed in shifts for office security,” police commented.

Following the theft, officials from the driving license service and police launched an investigation, gathering evidence at the scene and scouring CCTV footage in pursuit of the culprits.
