KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur announced on Monday that solar panels would be provided free of charge to the residents of the province.
Speaking in the provincial assembly, the chief minister stated that the government’s plan is to transition to solar power. In the initial stage, all official buildings and offices will be shifted to solar energy.
CM Gandapur added that the provincial government would provide free solar panels to the people. “The rulers should stop lavishing money on public money. We will cut 20 percent fuel allowance (for the elite) very soon,” the chief minister announced.

It should be noted that both the Punjab and Sindh governments had previously announced plans to distribute solar panels to the residents of their respective provinces.
The Sindh government, led by Syed Murad Ali Shah, will provide affordable electricity to over 200,000 households in the province. Each household will receive a complete solar system for just Rs. 7,000 through a partnership with the World Bank.
Moreover, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz had also approved the provision of a 1Kv solar system to 50,000 families in the province.
Under the project, eligible families, who are protected power consumers using under 100 electricity units per month, will receive a 1Kv solar system comprising two solar plates, batteries, inverter, and wires.
