Karachi experiences hottest night of July in 3 years

Karachi experienced its hottest July night since 2021 last night, with temperatures reaching 32°C, higher than the 31°C recorded in both 2021 and 2022, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). This was 4.1°C above the normal average.

The Met Office forecasts continued hot and humid weather, with temperatures expected to range between 35°C and 37°C over the next 24 hours. Typically, July temperatures in Karachi average around 27.9°C.

Karachi is currently experiencing a severe heatwave, briefly interrupted by scattered rains. Health experts have advised residents to consume homemade food and boiled water.

While no rain is expected today, Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz suggests that monsoon rains may begin after July 8.
