Shaheen Afridi mocks Mohsin Naqvi’s ‘major surgery’ comments (Video)

Pakistan’s fast bowler Shaheen Afridi humorously responded to comments made by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi about the cricket team’s poor performance in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

The team, led by Babar Azam, exited early after losing to both the United States and India. Naqvi had remarked that the team needed “major surgery” to improve, which Shaheen found amusing.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Shaheen joked, “Koi Beemar Hogaya (Is someone ill?)”, prompting laughter.

Naqvi expressed his disappointment last month, stating, “I thought the team needed minor adjustments, but now it seems we require major changes. It’s very disappointing to lose to the USA and India. We need to consider new players.”

He also stated that “everyone is questioning why the team isn’t performing. We will review everything after the World Cup.”

Earlier this year, Naqvi had replaced Shaheen with Babar Azam as the T20I captain after a series loss to New Zealand. Rumors of tension between Babar and Shaheen have circulated since the captaincy change.
