The PCB is expected to make an official announcement regarding these appointments once all formalities have been completed.
This decision comes ahead of the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand, scheduled to commence from April 18. The Pakistan cricket team’s next significant assignment is the T20 World Cup, slated to take place in the United States and West Indies in June.
These coaching positions became vacant after Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn, and Andrew Puttick were reassigned to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore following a restructuring of their roles in November 2023. The trio officially left their positions in January of this year.
In April 2023, Arthur was appointed as the Director of the Pakistan men’s cricket team, while Bradburn had been named as the head coach of the Pakistan national men’s side earlier in the year. Additionally, former South African cricketer Puttick had been serving as a batting coach since April 2023.
Furthermore, the PCB has also opened up a position for an assistant head coach. The advertisement states that candidates can apply for this role until April 20. Requirements for the assistant coach position include a minimum Level II coaching accreditation and three years of experience with an international team, franchise, or domestic team.
