Gold price reaches all-time high

On Saturday, the price of gold in Pakistan soared to a new peak, mirroring its significant surge in the global market. The precious metal reached Rs245,100 per tola after experiencing a remarkable single-day increase of Rs4,900.

According to data provided by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 10 grams of gold rose to Rs210,134, marking a surge of Rs4,200.

The previous day, on Friday, the gold price in Pakistan had dropped by Rs900 per tola.

Following this latest surge, the local market witnessed a historic high in the price of gold per tola, surpassing the previous record of Rs242,700 per tola observed in September 2023, as reported by the APGJSA.

The global market experienced heightened activity amid speculation of a US Federal Reserve interest rate cut.

According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), on Saturday, the international price of gold reached an all-time high of $2,350 per ounce, reflecting a significant gain of $44. With a premium of $20, this surge marked a notable increase in gold rates.

In parallel, silver rates also saw an uptick, rising by Rs40 to reach Rs2,650 per tola.
