WEB DESK: Twenty-three sets of twins graduated from Pollard Middle School in Needham, Massachusetts, representing about 10% of the eighth-grade class.
Both identical and fraternal twins were among the graduates on Wednesday.
“Usually, we have anywhere from five to ten sets at most,” said a school representative. “With approximately 450 to 500 children per grade, this was an exceptionally high number.”
Moreover, during the “moving up” ceremony, the school gave special recognition to the 23 sets of twins.

To graduate, Pollard Middle School students must complete up to 10 hours of service learning in their communities, and every year the Needham Exchange Club offers five community service awards.
Furthermore, this year, for the first time, a set of twins – Lukas and Sameer Patel – won an award and a donation to their charity, according to Ms. Bibbo. Another student, who is a twin, graduated while her brother attends a different school.
In the US, twins make up around 3% of live births, according to the National Centre for Health Statistics.
