Indian cricket team receives Rs400 crore reward for T20 World Cup victory

Jay Shah, Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has announced a prize money of INR 125 crore (PKR 416 crore) for the winners of the T20 World Cup 2024.

Under the leadership of Captain Rohit Sharma, the Indian cricket team made history by clinching the T20 World Cup title without losing a single match throughout the tournament.

In a thrilling final held in Barbados, India triumphed over South Africa, chasing down a target of 177 runs.

Despite a valiant effort, South Africa fell short at 169 runs for the loss of 8 wickets, handing India a memorable victory by a margin of 7 runs. This victory marks India’s second triumph in the shortest format of the game.
