LAHORE: In a significant boost for Lahore residents, the city’s free Wi-Fi service has been expanded to 200 locations, following directives from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
According to media reports, the Punjab Safe City Authority has doubled the number of active Wi-Fi points from 100 to 200, enhancing internet accessibility across several areas, including Manga Mandi, Multan Road, Bund Road, Chohang, Shahpur Kanjran, Sunder, Valencia, Maraka, and more.

Maryam Nawaz emphasised that the initiative is part of the Digital Punjab Vision, aimed at providing essential free Wi-Fi services during emergencies. The service supports critical applications like the Police App and WhatsApp, facilitating app downloads and taxi bookings.
However, it is important to note that this free Wi-Fi service does not support entertainment apps such as Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok. Each Wi-Fi device covers an area up to 300 feet from its location, ensuring extensive coverage for residents.
