Pakistan captain Babar Azam is once again under fire over his batting against USA in his team’s first game of the ICC T20 World Cup.
The Men in Green suffered one of the biggest upsets in the history of sports as the inexperienced USA team defeated them in a thrilling contest. During his 44 runs knock, Babar played 19 dot balls while hitting two sixes and three fours.
In a post on X, former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan slammed the Pakistan skipper over his slow batting approach.

“On a fairly decent batting condition as a captain if you are playing 40+ ball innings with 100 strike rate. You aren’t helping your team cause,” Pathan wrote.

Furthermore, renowned commentator Harsha Bhogle also wasn’t impressed with the way Babar batted. He stated that he won’t consider the 29-year-old’s 44 (43) inning among his best.
I have seen Babar Azam play many fine innings. This 44(43) won't be among them. On a decent surface, he looked strangely out of rhythm.

Bhogle added that “on a decent surface, he looked strangely out of rhythm.” After suffering defeat against the US, Pakistan will play against India on June 9 in its second and all important game of the group stage.
