T20 World Cup: Afghanistan sets target of 57 for South Africa

BRIAN LARA STADIUM: Afganistan has set target of 57 in South Africa in T20 World Cup semi final.

Afghanistan won the toss and opted to bat first against South Africa. Captain Rashid Khan expressed confidence in his team’s ability to set a competitive total on a fresh wicket despite recent disciplinary issues.

“At the toss, we decided to bat first on this fresh wicket,” Khan stated. “Our middle-order hasn’t had much time in recent games, so it’s important for them to adapt quickly when they come in around the 15th or 16th over.”

Despite Khan’s recent ICC reprimand for dissent shown towards a teammate during a previous match, Afghanistan remains determined to clinch their first-ever victory over South Africa in T20Is and secure a spot in the tournament final.
