Saudi Arabia begins issuing umrah visas for post-hajj season

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has begun issuing Umrah visas for the post-Hajj season, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on Thursday.

The new Umrah season will begin with the start of the Islamic year on Muharram 1. This initiative aims to facilitate the arrival of pilgrims and ensure a seamless and hassle-free experience.

According to SPA, the ministry is focused on executing the directives of the Saudi leadership, working to accommodate a larger number of Umrah pilgrims and provide services that cater to their needs.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah had paused issuing Umrah permits through the Nusuk application for a month starting May 23. This suspension was intended to ensure that Hajj pilgrims arriving from around the world could perform their rituals comfortably.

The ministry had announced that the Nusuk App would resume issuing Umrah visas from Dhul Hijjah 15, which corresponds to June 21.

In a recent statement, the ministry highlighted that resuming the Umrah visa issuance would facilitate the smooth arrival of Umrah pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.

“This annual initiative follows immediately after the Hajj season. It leverages the ministry’s expertise and establishes technical and field programs to serve Hajj and Umrah pilgrims and facilitate their rituals,” the ministry stated.
