Pakistan to compensate $2.58 million to families of chinese engineers killed in terrorist attack

The Federal Cabinet has approved a package for the families of Chinese nationals who died in the Dasu Dam project terrorist attack.

Pakistan will pay $2.58 million in compensation to the families of the five Chinese engineers killed in the March 26 terrorist attack on the vehicle carrying them, according to sources.

Each family of a deceased Chinese worker at the Dasu Dam project will receive $516,000 in compensation, according to the sources.

The cabinet approved the package through a circulation summary, sources added.

Pakistan’s embassy in Beijing will disburse relief amounts to the families of the deceased Chinese workers.

Additionally, the government will provide Rs 2.5 million ($8,950) in compensation to the family of the Pakistani driver who also died in the attack, sources added.
