The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced a hike in electricity prices by more than Rs. 3 per unit.
According to a notification issued by the authority, electricity prices have been raised for a duration of one month. The latest adjustment sees an increase of Rs. 3.33 per unit, placing a temporary burden on consumers.
The notification further stated that the electricity prices have been raised as part of the monthly fuel price adjustment for April. This adjustment will result in additional charges for consumers in their upcoming monthly bills.

It is pertinent to mention that the increase in electricity prices will not affect K-Electric consumers. Earlier this month, NEPRA approved an increase of Rs3.76 per unit in power tariff for the next three months.
According to the notification, electricity prices will rise by Rs1.90 per unit for the month of June. For the months of July and August, there will be an increase of 93 paisas per unit.
