Kate Middleton will make her first public appearance today since cancer diagnosis

Britain’s Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, is set to make her first public appearance in nearly six months at London’s annual Trooping the Colour event today (Saturday), marking the official birthday of the British sovereign.

A day earlier, she announced, “I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet.”

She also expressed gratitude, saying she has been “blown away” by the kind messages of support and encouragement since her recent diagnosis.

Kate and Prince William’s children, George, aged 10, Charlotte, aged 9, and Louis, aged 6, have also largely been out of the public eye in recent months. They will join her at Saturday’s event. The family traditionally gathers on the balcony at the end of each year’s event to watch a flyover by the Royal Air Force.
