Starting this week, government schools in Punjab will operate from Monday to Friday, with Saturdays reserved exclusively for teacher training. This new schedule will allow teachers to focus on improving their skills and teaching methods without the pressure of conducting regular classes.

In addition, the minister mentioned plans to extend the working hours of government schools, although specific details about this adjustment have not yet been provided.

The goal is to maximize instructional time during the weekdays, ensuring that the quality of education remains high despite the new Saturday holiday. This policy aims to strike a balance between reducing teacher stress and maintaining effective teaching standards for students.
