The Toshakhana case revolves around allegations of mishandling gifts from foreign dignitaries. Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were previously embroiled in two separate cases related to the state gift repository. In one instance, they were handed 14-year prison sentences, along with disqualification from holding any public office for 10 years, and a fine of Rs787 million. This verdict was later suspended by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in April, which had initially been delivered in January 2024.
