Fawad Chaudhry urges PTI to engage in dialogue with all stakeholders, Fazlur Rehman

Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry urged the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to embark on discussions with all stakeholders, including their long-standing adversary, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F).

Speaking to the press outside the anti-terrorism court (ATC) premises in Rawalpindi, Chaudhry stressed the significance of engaging with Rehman, citing the potential ramifications for the current government’s tenure if an alignment were to occur between the PTI and the JUI-F.

“Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s recent remarks have garnered widespread attention. A potential alliance between Rehman and the PTI could present considerable challenges to the stability of the current administration,” Fawad Chaudhry stated.

Highlighting common ground between the JUI-F and PTI in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chaudhry underscored the necessity of resolving the prevailing political deadlock.

In his critique of the incumbent government, Chaudhry questioned its legitimacy, asserting that its formation occurred through unconventional means.

The call for dialogue follows Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s scathing criticism of the current administration, delivered on Monday. Addressing the National Assembly, the JUI-F leader voiced discontent among both winning and losing legislators, portraying the parliament as a mere facade manipulated by undisclosed forces.
