ISPR firmly rejects Indian army allegations

WEBDESK: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday strongly rejected allegations made by the Indian Army Chief, labeling Pakistan as the ‘epicenter of terrorism.’

In a statement, ISPR termed the remarks not only contrary to facts but also a futile attempt to perpetuate India’s default narrative of blaming Pakistan for the Indigenous reaction to state-sponsored brutality.

The statement described the accusations as a ‘classic case of extreme duplicity’ and an effort to divert global attention from India’s own human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), internal repression of minorities, and transnational repression.

ISPR highlighted that the Indian Army Chief, during his previous tenure in IIOJK, personally oversaw brutal repression against the Kashmiri population. Such statements, ISPR noted, underline the extreme politicisation of the Indian Army.

ISPR said that the international community is well aware of India’s actions, including hate speech that incites genocide against Muslims, transnational assassinations, and the oppressive use of force against innocent civilians in IIOJK. These acts of brutality, it stated, have only strengthened the Kashmiri people’s resolve to achieve their UN-mandated right to self-determination.

In addition, ISPR pointed out that a senior serving Indian military officer is currently in Pakistan’s custody, having been caught red-handed orchestrating acts of terror against innocent civilians. This fact, the statement asserted, has been conveniently ignored by the Indian Army Chief in his accusations.

Pakistan expressed strong exception to the baseless and unfounded claims, reiterating its hope that Indian Army leadership would prioritise civility, professionalism, and state-to-state norms over political expediency. Empathising with the victims of Indian Army brutality, Pakistan called for a more responsible and factual approach from Indian officials in addressing regional issues.
