Saudi Arabia makes it easier for Pakistanis to obtain visas

Saudi Arabia has eased tourist visa requirements for Pakistani travelers. Applicants now only need to submit a bank statement showing a minimum monthly credit amount of $750 or its equivalent, according to the Saudi Tourism Authority.

A press release highlighted that Saudi Arabia is a top destination for Pakistani tourists, with a 43% increase in visitors compared to 2023. The kingdom aims to welcome 2.7 million Pakistani visitors in 2024.

To meet this demand, Saudi Arabia has set up six Tasheer offices in Pakistan (Peshawar, Quetta, Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, and Multan) to facilitate visa applications.

These offices provide a convenient process, including application guidance, biometric enrollment, status tracking, and passport delivery. Appointments can be scheduled on the Tasheer website.

Additionally, Saudi Arabia has introduced a transit visa for travelers flying with Saudia and Flynas, allowing a 96-hour stay. Travelers with valid UK, US, or Schengen visas can obtain a visa on arrival.

Last year, Saudi Arabia launched a one-year multiple entry visa for Pakistani travelers for personal visits. This visa permits multiple visits within a year and allows the holder to perform Umrah.

The Saudi Tourism Authority believes that easing visa requirements will encourage more Pakistani tourists to visit friends and family, perform Umrah, and explore Saudi Arabia’s attractions, including Riyadh, Jeddah, the Red Sea, and AlUla.

Saudi Arabia offers year-round attractions, with cooler regions in summer and a busy event calendar in winter.
