Abdul Mueed Baloch of Pakistan has secured a gold medal in the men’s 400-metre race at the ongoing Fourth International Military Sports Council (CISM) World Cadet Games, held at the Fuerte Tiuna military base in Caracas, Venezuela.

The games, which commenced on August 17, saw Baloch achieve a remarkable time of 48.20 seconds to clinch the top spot. As he stood on the podium, Baloch proudly hoisted the Pakistani flag and celebrated his victory with traditional dance moves.

Notably, Baloch also set a national record with a time of 46.73 seconds in the 400-metre event earlier this year.

The CISM World Cadet Games, first introduced in 2010, serve as a significant international sporting event within the CISM framework. Baloch’s journey to this achievement began in 2015 when he transitioned from football to athletics, debuting in the National Coaching Centre. His initial competitive sprint was the Aman Tech 100m race, where he clocked 12.50 seconds.
