Darius Visser sets new record with 39 runs in a single over during T20 World Cup Qualifier.
Samoan cricketer Darius Visser made history by scoring 39 runs in a single over during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup East Asia Pacific Qualifier A match.
The record-breaking feat took place at Garden Oval in Samoa, where Visser smashed six sixes off Vanuatu’s Nalin Nipiko, with three no-balls contributing to the total.
Moreover, this remarkable achievement surpasses the previous record of 36 runs in an over, set by India’s Yuvraj Singh during the 2007 Men’s T20 World Cup.

The record had been matched by several players, including Kieron Pollard, Nicholas Pooran, and Rohit Sharma, but Visser’s 39-run over stands alone.
Visser’s innings didn’t stop at the record; he went on to score his first international century, amassing 132 runs off just 62 balls. His outstanding performance led Samoa to their second win in the tournament and kept their hopes alive for qualifying for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
