He also emphasized that the program fosters an understanding of American culture and values. The program, implemented by Evolution, a local partner, has received support from several academic institutions, including Sindh Madressatul Islam University, University of Sufism and Modern Sciences Bhitshah, and Sindh Agriculture University, Umerkot.
Sponsored by the U.S. Mission’s Regional English Language Office, the two-year scholarship offers after-school and intensive English classes to students aged 13 to 20.
It is targeted at academically talented but economically disadvantaged youth, helping them contribute to Pakistan’s development while enhancing their chances for future U.S. exchange and academic opportunities.
Since its start in 2004, the English Access Scholarship Program has benefited 8,000 students across Sindh and Balochistan, empowering them with skills for success in an increasingly interconnected world.
