Karachi has reported its first dengue-related death of the year, with a 12-year-old boy succumbing to the disease in a private hospital.
According to hospital sources, the boy was brought in critical condition earlier this morning. Prior to this, he had been receiving treatment at another hospital.
Hospital sources further revealed that the boy’s parents reported he had been ill for two to three days. The boy passed away due to a severe drop in his platelet count.
The Sindh Health Department has expressed unawareness regarding the incident.
