Plastic pollution has emerged as a significant global problem, with microplastics—tiny plastic particles found in food and water—posing serious health risks.
The study also connects microplastics to various health issues, including heart problems, hormonal imbalances, and cancer. The research team emphasized that reducing plastic usage could help lower blood pressure by decreasing the amount of plastic particles in the blood.

Additionally, researchers advise avoiding drinks packaged in plastic bottles to minimize health risks. Previous findings indicated that humans ingest approximately 5 grams of microplastics weekly through bottled beverages.
To combat the intake of microplastics, boiling and filtering tap water is recommended, as it can reduce the presence of microplastics by nearly 90%.
