The Punjab government has decided to include the ongoing low-cost housing projects in semi-urban areas under the ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’ initiative. These housing schemes were initially launched in Lahore, Sargodha, and Chiniot to provide affordable housing solutions.

During the ninth meeting of the Punjab Cabinet’s Standing Committee on Legislation, the progress of these projects was reviewed, with the Housing and Urban Development Department briefing on the current status of the low-cost housing scheme.

The department has been tasked with expediting the completion of the scheme, which covers up to three marla units. Immediate release of funds has also been directed to ensure swift progress. Once the cabinet approves, the low-cost housing scheme will be completed under the new initiative.
