ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad has declared Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur a proclaimed offender in a case protesting the disqualification of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
According to media reports, Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Tahir Abbas Supra heard the case of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders protesting the disqualification of the founder of PTI Imran Khan. The PTI leader Faisal Javed and Wasiq Qayyum appeared before the court.
The court declared Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Umar Tanveer Butt as proclaimed offenders, while the process of declaring Amir Kayani as proclaimed offenders has been initiated.
During the hearing, Faisal Javed also filed a petition in court to remove terrorism provisions against him from the FIR.
The court issued arrest warrants for the absent accused adjourned the hearing of the case till January 15 and sought arguments on the petitions.
Authorities registered a case against several PTI leaders and workers, including Ali Amin Gandapur and Faisal Javed Khan, in 2022 at Police Station I-9, Islamabad.
Earlier on Monday, a District and Sessions Court in Islamabad on Monday ordered the arrest of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in an illegal weapons and alcohol recovery case.
Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan heard the case and ordered the arrest before adjourning the hearing until January 21.
Last week, the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) withdrew its non-bailable arrest warrants against Ali Amin Gandapur in the case linked to the November 26 protest march. the court declared the proceedings to declare the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister as a proclaimed offender null and void.
