Bushra Bibi, the wife of a Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) Chief, did not leave Islamabad voluntarily during PTI protest operation, according to her sister, Maryam Riaz Wattoo.
Speaking to journalist Muhammad Malik, Wattoo claimed that Bushra Bibi had resisted being taken away. “I asked her if she left willingly, and she said, ‘No! I didn’t want to leave. When they were taking me away, I said I would jump out of the car, but the door didn’t open. In that state, they removed me,’” Wattoo revealed.
Wattoo also stated that Bushra Bibi’s car tire was punctured during gunfire. By the time she arrived at Islamabad’s D-Chowk, she was reportedly alone.
Earlier, right after the operation, Maryam Riaz Wattoo claimed that Bushra Bibi was still in Islamabad and remained determined despite an ongoing police crackdown on PTI leaders and supporters.
In a video statement, Maryam said Bushra Bibi was “standing firm” and would continue her efforts to secure her husband’s release.
