RAWALPINDI: Four Khwarij were killed as security forces thwarted an infiltration bid by a group of Fitna al Khwarij at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Khyber district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on the night of 19/20 December, movement of a group of Khwarij, who were trying to infiltrate the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, was picked up by the security forces in Rajgal area of ​​Khyber.

Four foreigners were killed in the timely action of the forces. In the exchange of fire, the brave son of the land, Sepoy Amir Sohail Afridi, was also martyred, it added.

The ISPR said that Pakistan has been continuously demanding effective border management from the Afghan interim government.

It is expected that the interim Afghan government will fulfill its responsibilities and will not allow the Khawarij to use its land for terrorism against Pakistan.

Prime Minister pays tribute to security forces

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid homage tribute to security forces for foiling Khawarij [termed used for TPP terrorists] infiltration bid.

Meanwhile, he expressed grief over the martyrdom of Pakistan Army soldier Amir Sohail Afridi in the exchange of fire.

The Prime Minister prayed for forgiveness for martyred soldier Amir Sohail Afridi and prayed for patience and perseverance for the family members, saying that the sacrifices of the sons of the nation will never go in vain.

Earlier on Friday, security forces have killed the most wanted leader of proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and seven other terrorists in a successful intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Tank District.

On receiving information about the presence of militants, the security forces conducted IBO in the Tank district on the night between December 17 and 18.

Ali Rehman alias Maulana Taha Swati was a close associate of TTP leader Mufti Fazlullah. He joined Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in 2010. The killed terrorist was an important leader of the TTP Shura. He had fled to Afghanistan.

Pakistan has repeatedly provided credible evidence to the Afghan interim government regarding TTP involvement involved in cross-border attacks, but no action has been taken so far.

The alliance between the Afghan Taliban and the TTP poses a serious threat to global and regional peace.
