RAWALPINDI: May 9 convicted Individuals sentenced earlier today by military courts in the May 9 riots have revealed Imran Khan and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership role in inciting them to carry out attacks on military installations.
In a video statement, the convicted rioters said that Imran Khan’s anti-army rhetoric and the PTI leadership’s plans motivated them to attack military installations following Khan’s arrest at the Islamabad High Court.
According to the ISPR, the media affairs wing of the Pakistan Army, 25 individuals involved in the May 9 incidents were sentenced after thorough legal proceedings and evaluation of evidence. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) assured that all convicts were afforded their legal rights to ensure a fair process.
In their confessional statements, the convicts claimed that Imran Khan’s speeches and PTI leadership directives compelled them to engage in acts of violence.
Among those sentenced was PTI worker Jan Muhammad Khan, who received 10 years in prison for his role in the attack on Jinnah House. In his confession, he admitted to stealing a military uniform from Jinnah House, wearing it, recording a video, and later burning it.

Similarly, Shan Ali, inspired by anti-army speeches, was sentenced to 10 years of hard labour for his involvement in the attack on Jinnah House. Babar Jamal Khan received a 10-year sentence for participating in the attack on the Mianwali base.
Other convicts, including Dawood Khan, Muhammad Hasher, Fahim Haider, Muhammad Ashiq Khan, and Muhammad Bilawal, were sentenced to varying terms of imprisonment.Also Read: Complete justice in May 9 riots will be served when mastermind held accountable: ISPR
In their statements, all the convicts pointed to the PTI leadership as being responsible for inciting hatred against the military and encouraging these violent acts.
