WEB DESK: Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sardar Latif Khosa claimed that the government was ready to release former Prime Minister Imran Khan but was met with resistance.
He highlighted that PTI’s demand was for Khan’s immediate release, and delays only occurred when certain individuals caused disruptions. Khosa firmly stated, “The movement is far from over. We haven’t even started yet. We will march to Islamabad and form our government.”
Khosa, reflecting on recent events, also expressed frustration over the Interior Minister’s harsh remarks about protesters attempting to reach D-Chowk. Despite heavy security and numerous checkpoints, Khosa pointed out that PTI supporters managed to reach Islamabad. Additionally, PTI announced that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister would compensate the families of martyrs with one crore rupees each.
On the issue of accountability, Khosa vowed to file FIRs against the killing of PTI workers. “We will file the FIRs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as we know no one will register them in Islamabad,” he added.
In a contrasting perspective, Senator Faisal Vawda claimed that PTI was on the verge of being banned. He speculated that the ‘genuine’ supporters of PTI would soon form a new political entity, PTI Pakistan while accusing the current leadership of being incapable of facing the public.
Vawda criticised the PTI leadership for their alleged involvement in the chaotic events of May 9, blaming the “vultures” behind the party’s founder for financial mismanagement and manipulation.
