Apple has unveiled its latest iPhone 16, enhanced with artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, just hours after Chinese tech giant Huawei saw its tri-fold smartphone draw millions of pre-orders.

At a launch event on Monday, Apple’s Chief Executive Tim Cook described the iPhone 16 as “the next generation of iPhone, designed for Apple Intelligence from the ground up,” marking the device as a significant step forward for the company. “It marks the beginning of an exciting new era,” Cook added.

The iPhone 16, powered by the new A18 chip, features an aluminium back and introduces a customisable button, which can be configured for camera controls, among other functions.
