WEBDESK: On the occasion of 5 February Kashmir Solidarity Day, ISPR launched a new anthem, “Kashmir Banega Pakistan” sung by renowned singer Ahmed Jahanzeb and written by Imran Raza.
The anthem by ISPR starts with the speech of late Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, in which he is addressing the crowd, saying, We are Pakistanis only because of Islam and love of Islam; Pakistan is ours.
The video shows the Indian Army’s inhumane treatment of Kashmiris and their struggle to free Kashmir from illegal Indian occupation.
Moreover, this anthem sends a loud and clear message to the world that Kashmiris are not alone in their struggle against the occupying forces.
Pakistan calls upon the international community to play its role in checking the egregious human rights violations in Indian-occupied Kashmir.
The history of Kashmir Day
Kashmir Solidarity Day is also observed nationwide on February 5. On this day we express support for the Kashmiris who are struggling for their rights in India. It focuses on showing Pakistan’s support and unity to the people of Indian-occupied Kashmir.
Kashmir Day was first observed in 1990 on the call of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab at the time. He appealed for a nationwide strike for the Kashmiri freedom movement’s success. The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) then declared February 5 as a public holiday, and Kashmir Day has since been observed every year.
Pakistan calls upon the international community to play its role in checking the egregious human rights violations in Indian-occupied Kashmir.
Like every year, the Federal Government of Pakistan declared a public holiday on 5 February to observe Kashmir Day this year too.
All the educational institutions are to remain closed, including schools, colleges, and universities, to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day.
