ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated Jinnah Square in Islamabad today. He called it a major boost to the city’s infrastructure and a sign of ‘efficient governance.’ The square features three underpasses linking Khayaban-e-Suharwardi and Srinagar Highway. Officials expect it to ease traffic congestion and cut air pollution.

In his speech, Sharif highlighted the project’s benefits. He said it would improve traffic flow, save time, and reduce fuel consumption. “Most importantly, it saves people’s precious time,” he stated.

He praised the project’s completion in just 72 days, calling it a record achievement. He credited Mohsin Naqvi for his leadership and dedication. Sharif said Naqvi had turned “Punjab speed” into an even faster “Mohsin speed.”

Sharif urged officials to maintain this efficiency in future projects. He stressed the need to enhance Islamabad’s beauty. He noted that guests at the SCO summit praised the city’s beautification. He also emphasized preserving green spaces and floral displays.

He asked Naqvi to keep up the momentum. He also called for the renovation of old government buildings from the 1960s. Sharif expressed satisfaction with Naqvi’s commitment to urban renewal.
