LAHORE: DIG Athar Waheed has been appointed as the new Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore replacing his wife Amara Athar, who assumed charge as Lahore’s CTO in December 2023.
DIG Athar Waheed, belonging to the 30th Common, joined the Police Services of Pakistan (PSP) as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in 2003.
Before his charge as CTO Lahore, Athar Waheed was posted as DIG Patrolling and Highways Police (PHP).
Athar Waheed was posted as a trainee officer ASP Abbottabad, ASP Kohat, and Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Bhakkar. He also remained SP Civil Lines and Saddar Division Gujranwala, SP Jaranwala, SP Mobiles Lahore, SP Headquarters Lahore, SP Operations Saddar, and Model Town during his career.
Waheed also served as Sector Commander N-5, Commandant College National Highways, and Motorways Police.
Apart from that, the newly-appointed CTO Lahore also served as District Police Officer (DPO) Upper Dir and CPO Jhelum. Waheed has also served as SSP Discipline, SSP Admin, Director FIA Punjab Zone II and FIA Islamabad.
