The federal cabinet has given the green light for a joint venture between the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) to develop the Kuri Model Scheme in Islamabad.

The scheme will span over 10,000 kanals of land in Zone IV, which belongs to the CDA. According to sources, the DHA will take on the responsibility of developing the plots, which will then be shared between the two entities based on a land-sharing formula.

While official confirmation is awaited, it is reported that the CDA will receive 55% of the plots, while DHA will be allotted the remaining 45%. A formal agreement is expected to be signed soon between the two parties.

Earlier this year, the CDA invited private developers to participate in the project, attracting interest from various groups including Bahria Town, Park View, Faisal Hills, and others.

However, the CDA opted to move forward with DHA alone, citing that it was the only developer meeting their criteria. The CDA board had previously approved the summary, which was later endorsed by the federal cabinet.

An official from the CDA expressed confidence in the partnership, highlighting that the civic body would receive numerous plots without any financial investment.
