To improve transportation in Lahore, the Punjab government has given the green light for the introduction of a new tram service.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif approved the tram service project during her recent visit to the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) headquarters.

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has begun work on the 11-kilometer tram project, which will feature 10 stops spaced approximately 1 to 1.5 kilometers apart.

The LDA is modeling the tram system after modern designs from Finland and China, with the project estimated to cost Rs27 billion.

Lahore Tram Service Routes

The tram route will pass through key areas including Main Boulevard from Kalma Chowk, Liberty, Main Market, Mini Market, and Hali Road. MM Alam Road will be converted into a one-way street to integrate the tram line. Furthermore, a special stop will be added at Gaddafi Stadium for sports fans and event attendees.

Lahore Tram Service Ticket Price

Ticket prices for the tram service will be announced after the launch.
