The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has initiated a recruitment drive to tackle the shortage of teachers in federal government schools and colleges.
An official revealed on Monday that the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training advertised a total of 237 Elementary School Teacher (EST) positions in March, including 102 for men and 135 for women.
The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) used an AI-powered assessment tool, created with the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), to screen 21,564 applicants for the teaching positions.

This approach was used to keep the process transparent and free from outside interference. As a result, 211 qualified candidates were chosen and given their offer letters.
There were also 72 female Secondary School Teacher (SET) positions sent to the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC). The FPSC recommended eligible candidates, and the ministry has already issued offer letters to 47 of them.
