There have also been claims on the Internet that China has declared a state of emergency, but this has not been confirmed.

It should be noted that the coronavirus, which has caused the deaths of millions of people worldwide, also started in China and spread throughout the world.

What is Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV)

According to the Cleveland Clinic, Human metapneumovirus (HMPV) is a virus that usually causes symptoms similar to the common cold.

The virus often causes upper respiratory infections, but it can sometimes cause lower respiratory infections like pneumonia. It also causes asthma flare-ups or makes chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) worse.

“Young children, adults over 65 and people with weakened immune systems are at a higher risk for serious illness. HMPV is common — most people get it before they turn 5,” Cleveland Clinic stated in a blog.
