Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has given the green light for offering foreign language courses at Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) institutes.

Starting soon, students will be able to study Korean, Japanese, German, Chinese, and Arabic.

During a meeting to finalize the TEVTA Mapping Plan, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of introducing innovative technical training courses.

She highlighted that these courses are crucial for boosting economic growth and tackling unemployment. Maryam Nawaz stated that TEVTA institutes should offer advanced courses in market-driven trades.

The Chief Minister added that the new courses should cover a wide range of fields, including building, textiles, garments, tourism, hospitality, information communication technology, automobile assembly and repair, food processing, biomedical technology, light engineering, renewable energy, and surgical instruments.

The Chief Minister also approved a proposal to hire 1,000 new employees to address the shortage of staff in TEVTA. Furthermore, she directed an increase in the monthly budget for purchasing training materials, raising it to Rs 2,000 per student per month.
