WEB DESK: Sri Lanka on Thursday scored 42 runs against South Africa, its lowest-ever score in a Test innings.

In the first innings, South Africa set a 191-run target, chasing which Sri Lanka scored 42 runs.

South Africa is now playing its second innings with a lead of 153 runs.

According to ESPN cricinfo, “their previous lowest being 71 against Pakistan in 1994 in Kandy. It’s also the lowest ever total at Kingsmeade, as well as the lowest ever Test score against South Africa beating New Zealand’s 45 all out in 2013 at Cape Town.”
