WEB DESK: Pakistan’s cricket team has achieved a historic milestone, becoming the first team in the world to play 250 T20 Internationals. The record-breaking achievement came during the second match of the three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe on Tuesday.
The match saw Pakistan convincingly defeat Zimbabwe by 10 wickets and take a 2-0 unassailable lead in the series. After winning the toss, Zimbabwe opted to bat first and then succumbed to a disciplined bowling attack from Pakistan that sent them crumbling to only 57 runs.
Pakistan reached the modest target of 58 runs comfortably in the sixth over, proving its batting strength and composure.
This landmark match put a 250th T20 International against the name of Pakistan but also offered insight into the consistency of the teams in this format. The Green Shirts have an impressive record of 144 wins in these 250 matches while suffering 95 losses. Add to that the four ties (three of which have gone to super overs, with two defeats and a victory), while seven were abandoned or had no result.
India follows Pakistan for the most T20Is played, at second in the list with 242 matches to their name.
