ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has invited French President Emmanuel Macron to take advantage of investment opportunities in Pakistan, especially in areas of climate adaptation and renewable energy.
According to a statement issued from the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz Sharif held a bilateral meeting with the president of France, Emmanuel Macron, on the sidelines of the One Water Summit in Riyadh on Tuesday night.
During the meeting, PM Shehbaz Sharif invited the French President to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan, particularly in the areas of climate adaptation and renewable energy.
“Prime Minister stressed upon the need to further strengthen mutually advantageous economic and trade ties between the two countries and encouraged France to take advantage of investment opportunities in Pakistan, especially in areas of climate adaptation and renewable energy,” read a statement.
“Both leaders agreed to enhance Pakistan-France cooperation, especially through the business-to-business contacts in the areas of agriculture, livestock, IT, skills development and clean drinking water.”

The both sides reiterated to remain closely engaged on all regional and global issues of mutual interest. They exchanged views on political, trade and investment, economic, as well as cooperation at multilateral forums, including the United Nations, it added.

He asked the French President to take advantage of investment opportunities in Pakistan, especially in areas of climate adaptation and renewable energy.
The premier also warmly congratulated President Macron on the successful co-hosting of the One Water Summit in Riyadh.
