LAHORE: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises have finalised their player retentions for the league’s 10th edition (PSL 10). For the first time, no trades occurred between teams this season.

Under PSL rules, each franchise can retain up to eight players from the previous squad.

Islamabad United, Quetta Gladiators, and Lahore Qalandars have used their full quota for PSL 10 edition. Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans, and Peshawar Zalmi retained seven players each.

Three-time champions Islamabad United retained skipper Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah (Platinum), Imad Wasim (Mentor), Azam Khan (Diamond), Salman Ali Agha (Brand Ambassador), Haider Ali (Gold), and Colin Munro and Roman Raees (Silver).

Multan Sultans, last year’s runners-up, retained Muhammad Rizwan and Osama Mir (Platinum), David Willey (Mentor), Iftikhar Ahmed (Brand Ambassador), Usman Khan (Diamond), Chris Jordan (Gold), and Faisal Akram (Silver).

Peshawar Zalmi retained Babar Azam and Saim Ayub (Platinum), Muhammad Haris (Diamond), Arif Yaqoob, Mehran Mumtaz, Sufyan Muqeem (Brand Ambassadors), and Ali Raza (Emerging).

Quetta Gladiators kept Abrar Ahmed, Muhammad Amir (Mentor), Riley Rossouw (Diamond), Akil Hussain, Saud Shakeel (Brand Ambassador), Muhammad Wasim Jr. (Gold), and Khawaja Muhammad Nafie and Usman Tariq (Silver).

Karachi Kings retained Hasan Ali and James Vince (Diamond), Irfan Khan and Shan Masood (Gold), Arafat Minhas (Brand Ambassador), Tim Seifert, and Zahid Mahmood (Silver).

Lahore Qalandars held on to Shaheen Shah Afridi and Fakhar Zaman (Platinum), Haris Rauf (Brand Ambassador), Sikandar Raza (Diamond), Abdullah Shafiq, Jehandad Khan, Zaman Khan (Gold), and David Wiese (Silver).

The draft of PSL 10th is set to take place in Gwadar on January 11.

At least 510 players from 19 countries including associate countries have signed up for the player draft of the league’s 2025 season.

Those who registered themselves for the draft included big names from Australia, England, New Zealand and South Africa.

Some of the big names registered in the top two categories include David Warner, Cooper Connolly, Jason Roy, Joe Clarke, Tom Curran, Tymal Mills, Alex Hales, Tim Southee, Michael Bracewell, Martin Guptill, Rassie van Der Dussen, Reeza Hendricks, Naveen-ul-Haq Murid, and Mohammad Nabi.
