WEB DESK: The International Cricket Council (ICC) board meeting regarding the Champions Trophy has been further delayed by 48 hours, as ICC needs more time to come up with an acceptable option for both Pakistan and India.

The ICC board meeting is now expected to take place on Monday.

Separately, Jang reported that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) contacted different stakeholders after Friday’s 15-minute-long ICC board meeting.

Media reports suggest that Pakistan has made it clear to the ICC that it will move forward only if the ICC presents a ‘workable formula.’

The ICC board members will sit together to find a solution that is acceptable to both the PCB and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The issue regarding the venue started when BCCI told the ICC that it would not send its team to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy scheduled from February 19 to March 9, 2025.

The matches of the big event are scheduled to be played in three cities: Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi. PCB is also renovating Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium for the event.

Pakistan and India clashes are among the most anticipated sports events in the world, with tickets for such matches being sold within minutes. If India and Pakistan do not play in the Champions Trophy, it will not only be a shock for fans but also a financial loss for the ICC.
