Son Pari, a beloved children’s fantasy adventure television show that aired on Star Plus from 2000 to 2004, recently sparked a wave of nostalgia as its cast members reunited after nearly two decades.

The show, co-produced by actor Neena Gupta, captured the imaginations of young viewers with its magical storyline featuring a desi Fairy Godmother-like character, Son Pari, and her eccentric sidekick Altu, who came to the aid of a young girl named Fruity during times of distress.

Tanvi Hegde, who portrayed Fruity and is now 32 years old, shared a heartwarming throwback on Instagram, recreating a pose from the show’s original poster with her co-stars. Hegde, who also starred in other popular TV shows of the early 2000s, including Hip Hip Hurray and Shaka Laka Boom Boom, expressed her joy at reuniting with her Son Pari family.

Joining her in the photo was Mrinal Kulkarni, 53, who brought the titular character of Son Pari to life. Kulkarni, who has since appeared in numerous Hindi and Marathi films and TV shows, including the 2022 blockbuster The Kashmir Files, recently played Sidharth Malhotra’s mother in Rohit Shetty’s Indian Police Force on Prime Video.

Also present was Ashokh Lokhande, an alumnus of the National School of Drama, who portrayed the quirky character Altu. Lokhande has had a diverse career, featuring in films such as Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Khamoshi: The Musical and Anurag Kashyap’s Black Friday and Raman Raghav 2.0. Notably, Neena Gupta, who directed Lokhande in the acclaimed TV show Saans, also served as a co-producer on Son Pari.

The reunion of the Son Pari cast has delighted fans, who fondly remember the show as a significant part of their childhoods, transporting them back to the early 2000s when magical adventures on Indian television were a source of wonder and joy.
