The date for Eid Milad-un-Nabi, which commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and falls on the 12th of Rabiul Awwal, will be determined today as the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee convenes to observe the moon and mark the beginning of the Islamic month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, 1446 AH.
The committee is meeting on the Islamic date 29 Safar 1446 AH to ascertain whether the moon is sighted. If confirmed, Eid Milad-un-Nabi will be observed on Monday, September 16, triggering a public holiday across Pakistan, as outlined in the 2024 public holiday schedule issued by the Federal Cabinet Secretariat Division.
