The Pakistan Muslim League-N-led coalition government remains optimistic about securing consensus on the proposed constitutional amendments despite Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s firm rejection of the package.
In a recent meeting between JUI-F chief Fazl and PTI leaders, Fazl dismissed the amendments, questioning the legitimacy of the draft shared by the government. The PTI and JUI-F have agreed to coordinate on parliamentary issues, heightening pressure on the coalition to address their concerns.

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar affirmed ongoing consultations with all political parties and dismissed claims of an extension for the Chief Justice.
Furthermore, Senator Irfan Siddiqui expressed confidence that JUI-F will eventually support the amendments, citing active involvement from coalition partners. The government plans to reconvene the parliamentary committee to address suggestions and ensure broad-based agreement.
