A Joint Task Force of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) along with district administration, and police conducted operations against four housing schemes located in Mouza Bagga Sheikhan and on the main Kallar Syedan Road in Rawat.

These housing schemes include Centaury Town, Taqwa Town, Green Enclave, and Rawat Enclave. The action was taken upon the directives of Divisional Intelligence Committee.

During the operation, RDA sealed the site offices of these housing schemes. Furthermore, it also demolished containers, boundary walls, curb stones and plot dividers.

Talking about the operation, a spokesperson for the authority said that the crackdown on illegal housing societies would continue vigorously to prevent fraud and safeguard citizens from exploitation.

Quoting the Director General, the spokesperson added that strict action would taken upon complaints from citizens regarding illegal land occupation by housing scheme owners.

“The RDA informed the public and advises citizens to avoid investing in illegal housing schemes,” he said. He also advised the public to visit the RDA website (www.rda.gop.pk) and only engage with approved housing schemes.

Despite being warned to stop their illegal activities, the owners of the four housing schemes continued to operate booking offices in violation of regulations.
